Engage with employers at upcoming career expos

Summer work expoHow can you best prepare for the working world after graduation?

Career Development and Employment Services (CDES) connects employers with students right here on campus, so you can learn about the industries you might like to work in, improve your networking skills and build your overall employability.

The CDES Summer Work Expo is coming up and presents an opportunity to find out about work opportunities over the summer, learn about best practice for applications, meet employers, undertake interviews, register with recruitment agencies and much more.

Work experience is one way to learn about the working world and helps to build your employability skills before applying for a graduate position. CVs can be made much stronger through part-time work, volunteering, hobbies and other activities that help you stand out from the crowd.

That’s why we’re incredibly excited to present the CDES Summer Work Expo!

The expo will also feature a LinkedIn photo booth where you can have professional headshots taken. In addition, there will be a CV and LinkedIn profile checking booth where our staff will look over your CV and offer tips for improvement.

How can you best prepare for an expo?

The first step is to login to MyCDES, our students’ personalised career management system. Use this to book into CDES workshops, access helpful resources and research the employers attending.

Keep an eye out for other upcoming CDES events including the Education Career Expo, OMD Recruitment Event and Transport Careers Evening.
