Hi there I am having trouble with knowing how to do a chicago footnote for an online encyclopedia with no author and edition. QUickcite doesn’t show this.

Hi! I am writing a PhD thesis on Italian crime fiction, completing the Referencing now. In my work I refer to many books and films, but not always quoting or citing from them. For example, when I write about an author or a type of narrative, I list some works with dates. I have included these texts and movies in the References, finding the first edition of the work when possible. But this makes my References infinite. I am wondering if it is correct or not.
    Thanks
