The Catalogue – what’s new

As part of our work to keep the Catalogue up-to-date, a number of enhancements have been recently added. These apply to the mobile view as well as desktop.

Highlights include:

Voice search

Click the microphone icon in the search box and the Catalogue will listen for your search terms. This new feature takes advantage of your device’s microphone and browser-based speech recognition functionality.

‘Sticky’ results filters

It’s now possible to the keep the filters, that you set up within a results set, for use in subsequent searches. This persistence will last for your entire search session, and you can easily remove these filters at any point too.

A date range and a format filter for e-books have been set up to last for the whole search session.

Select multiple records

In the brief results view you can now select a number of records at one time and use the top action bar (accessed via the three dots) to print, email or export them, etc.

You can also use the multiple selection function to save a number of records at one time to your Favourites, using the top Pin icon. If you are signed in you will be taken straight to your Favourites area, where you can then add labels to help manage your saved items.

Tick the record numbers to select multiple records and then Pin to your Favourites or access more actions via the three dots.
