We are making changes to Te Herenga Mātauranga Whānui | General Library

Te Tumu Herenga | Libraries and Learning Services are making some changes to Te Herenga Mātauranga Whānui | General Library. We’re focussing on having high-use and relevant materials available for immediate browsing and moving low-use material to our On-Demand Collection. All books and journals in the On-Demand Collection can be requested via the Catalogue and are usually supplied within 24 hours. These changes will also free up some differentiated spaces for student collaborative and individual study.

Mātauranga Māori and New Zealand and Pacific collections on Level M

Mātauranga Māori and the New Zealand and Pacific Collection have now relocated from Level G to Level M (the Mezzanine). This is two floors up from where they were.

Arriving from the central stairwell, Mātauranga Māori is to your left and the New Zealand and Pacific Collection is to your right.

To recognise the importance of these collections a karakia was held before the move on Friday 20 November. This joint Māori and Pacific tikanga included karakia | lotu, and mihi | lauga.
